The color Namibian Sand
takes us far away, to a beautiful country in Africa: Namibia. Here lays the Namib (desert), the oldest desert in the world, with several famous tourist attractions, such as Sossusvlei, the Death Valley and the sea of sand, which is considered World Heritage since 2013. The temperature can reach 45'C and there is an average of only 106 ml of precipitation per year. The desert is known for its large orange sand dunes. These have been created by the wind. The orange colour is due to the iron content in the sand, and the oxidation process that has happened over the years. The older the dune, the brighter the orange. This bright orange is the colour of our chalk paint Namibian Sand.
